FAQs

Good questions, honest answers.

Working with an advisor

What does a travel advisor actually do?

We design your trip around you, book every piece, look after the details you don’t want to think about, and stay a phone call away while you travel. We also bring relationships with hotels, cruise lines and guides that can mean upgrades, perks and extra help.

Does it cost more to use a travel advisor?

In most cases you pay the same rates you’d find booking on your own, often with added perks. For more involved custom trips, there may be a planning fee, and we’ll always discuss it with you up front.

Do I need to live near one of your offices?

Not at all. We plan trips by phone and video for travelers everywhere, and you’re always welcome to stop in if you’re nearby.

Will I work with the same person the whole time?

Yes. Your advisor stays with you from the first conversation to the welcome home, with the rest of our team behind them.

Planning and booking

How far ahead should we book?

For peak seasons, cruises, safaris and popular hotels, 9 to 12 months ahead gives you the best choices. Many trips can come together in a few months, and we’re happy to help with shorter notice too.

How do deposits and payments work?

Most trips start with a deposit to hold your space, with final payment due before travel. Timing varies by supplier, often 60 to 120 days ahead for cruises and tours. We’ll lay out every date clearly.

Should we buy travel insurance?

We recommend it for almost every trip. It can protect your investment if plans change and cover medical care away from home. We’ll help you choose the right coverage.

Can you help with passports and entry requirements?

Yes. We’ll remind you of passport validity rules, visas and other entry requirements for your destination. Many countries require at least six months of passport validity.

While you travel

What happens if something goes wrong on the trip?

Call us. Whether a flight is canceled or plans need to change, we’ll work on it with you and our partners so you can keep enjoying the trip.

Do you plan group trips and hosted vacations?

Yes. We plan family reunions, milestone trips and friend groups, and a few times a year our advisors host sailings for small groups.

Do you handle business travel?

We do. Our corporate travel team handles business travel for companies of every size.
